How to Train Your Dragon

How to Train Your Dragon is the latest creation from Dreamworks, the people who brought you Shrek. It is the story of Hiccup, a teenage boy living in the world of Vikings and dragon slaying. Every night the Vikings go out on a mission to kill the dragons that roam their city.

Even though Hiccup’s father is the head of the Vikings, he himself doesn’t quite fit in. He is itching to fight dragons, but he doesn’t look or talk like the other Vikings. When his father allows him to enter Dragon Training, Hiccup finally has the chance to prove that he can join the dragon fighters.

Things don’t go according to plan, however, when Hiccup comes across an injured dragon. Rather than kill the dragon, as he knows he should, he befriends it.  Through this secret relationship he learns that dragons aren’t actually as dangerous as the Vikings think and there are ways to control them without having to kill them. But he knows that trying to convince the Vikings of this won’t be easy.

The 3D effects are amazing and really bring this movie to life. The characters are easy to connect with and the Dragons are beautifully animated. While the storyline is fairly predictable, there is more than enough action and adventure to keep you entertained. Kids and adults will simply love it.
