Tefal Ingenio Cookware

It’s not very often that you change your pots and pans.

And that’s a good thing.

There are so many different brands on the market that promise to do this and that, it’s hard to know what is really the best.

Fortunately, you don’t have to do the run around this time. Here at BShare, we have had the privilege of testing two ranges of cookware by Tefal. And I think you’ll be very pleased with what we found.

Enter the Tefal Ingenio Range

All we can say is wow. We’re sure 99% of people have never seen a range of pots and pans like these. We’re told that sets like these have been very popular in Europe for quite some time. If you’re short of storage space, look no further than the Ingenio range. What makes this range so unique is that the set is collapsible. What we mean is that every pot and pan fits into each other almost like one of those little Russian dolls.

This makes saving space super easy.

Now we know what you’re wondering – how does a pot or pan fit into another pot or pan? What about the handle getting in the way? Well, at Tefal, they’ve solved that problem. With each set, you get one handle that is interchangeable with every piece of equipment.

So, when you want to pickup a pot, you simply place the handle on the edge of the pot, hold the trigger down on the handle and lock it onto the pot. Done. Need to use another piece of equipment? Easy! Click the release button, remove the handle and simply place the handle on the edge of the next piece of equipment, hold the trigger down and lock it in.

Rest assured, you can purchase additional handles if you lose one or simply want another.

Apart from making storage a breeze, the removable handles are also a great safety feature. No need to worry about little hands reaching up and pulling hot pots off the stove!

What’s more, the removable handle means that you can easily pop any of the pots into the oven, without fear that the handle will deteriorate, or it won’t fit into a small oven. And the set seamlessly goes from stove top or oven, straight into fridge with the included plastic lids. That means less to clean up!

We tested the 11 piece Ingenio Stainless Steel Set. For that you receive 16/18/20cm saucepans, 16/18/20cm glass lids, 16/18/20cm plastic lids, removable handle and removable magnetic knob.

We also tested the Ingenio Cocoon Stainless Steel Set. This is the most compact cookware set on the market and would be ideal for camping, caravanning or boating – or just limited kitchen space. The Ingenio Cocoon Set includes a 24cm frypan, 24cm wokpan, 18cm saucepan, 18/24cm glass lids, removable handle and removable magnetic knob. The frypan and wokpan in this range feature Tefal’s exclusive Thermo-spot heat indicator, which lets you know exactly when the pan has reached the optimal temperature to produce perfectly cooked, succulent food, every time.

The box the equipment comes in looks quite small, and you wonder how everything can fit

inside. But, keep in mind, every piece fits inside each other, and you soon realise this once you lift the box.

The Quality

While the range may be compact, this is certainly not light or flimsy cookware. The build quality of the Ingenio range is fantastic. The pots and pans feel sturdy and solid, and the universal handle is light yet strong. The locking mechanism on the handle feels precise every time you lock and release it.

What’s It Like To Live With Day To Day

Cooking is a breeze with the Tefal Ingenio range. The transition from old pots and pans to this range was certainly a leap forward. Food was cooked quickly and easily with no fuss. Getting used to the handle, though, may take some time. At times you want to pickup a pot, but then realise you’ve got to attach the handle. All in all, it’s great to live with.

Summary

If you’re someone that lacks space, or is in need of a new set of pots and pans, look no further than the Tefal Ingenio range. The mix of high quality materials with a space saving design almost makes you wish you had limited space.

  • I just saw an ad for these on TV. They look and sound great. I live in a tiny apartment, with very limited space in the kitchen, so I’ll check them out on the weekend.

  • For some reason T-Fal isn’t selling their nesting sets in US. I purchased T-Fal Ingenio about 7 years ago and LOVE IT. I was looking to buy set for son and daughter as they go to university but haven’t found a resource – even on ebay!

  • I have had the stakeable Ingenio for YEARS and have loved it. Originally purchased at the no longer Robinson’s department store. That tells you how long ago I bought the set. Over the years and many moves, I have 1 small pot and 1 removeable handle left. Would love to buy the full set again. Does anybody know where they can be found?

  • Just love these pots, I brought them originally to go in the camping gear, worth every penny.
Camping pots are so thin and tinny, great for the motor home.
